Families

This week we were sharing our food in a virtual way. We learned about dishes from different cultures and we talked about our favourites. Some children made their own meals and helped their families with this everyday task. It was great to connect with the children and their whanau through the love of cooking, creating, eating and sharing knowledge.

Te Reo Maori Week 13th-19th September

This week we've engaged in the experiences that celebrate Maori Language Week. We've listened to Maori Myths, songs and new words. The students had to write their own stories and some used a few te reo words. We played a colour game during our ZOOM and said greetings in te reo. Today we celebrated the Maori Language Week with an article called Kakahu Pepeke. We learned about Kakahu Pekepeke, a special carving from Otumoetai Primary School in Tauranga. It is a taonga-treasure to this school. The group shared their taonga with the class. It has been humbling to see all the special taonga shared amongst our students.
