You Rock!

Today, during our group session the students listened to a passage about the rocks. We all shared our rock collections and discussed different types of rocks and its characteristics.  We had to work out what would be the full price of a large crystal if it was purchased for $70 after 50% discount.  Ariyah showed us her family's pounamu/green stone, Tevita ground some rock salt, Aisha and Shaan showed us some rocks from the Crystal Mountain, some children found some rocks outside. There was a lot of excitement about the rocks and our mini lesson on changing our names on ZOOM. Our session lasted for 90 minutes instead of 60! It was great to learn something new and have a giggle at the same time.  You guys ROCK!!!

  1. Kia ora room 18! It is wonderful to see such a huge collection of different rocks and crystals. All of them are very beautiful and unique in their own way. I like the way thay you are also learning maths while learning about these rocks. It is good to see you learning about such an interesting topic! I also have a crystal lamp at home. Did you know that each crystal has its own spiritual meaning? Isn't that cool?!

  3. Thank you for your comments. I love lessons with real objects that ignite a spark. The only downfall is that we can't get a full experience online.
