New Look for Room 3

Last week we've moved back to our newly renovated Room 3. The children love this modern learning environment.

With the Halloween excitement last week we have investigated how different liquids react together.  It was an exciting experiment for all children.

We were learning about New Zealand birds over the last few weeks through multi sensory experience and taking an integrated approach. Some of the new children were able to explain terms like nocturnal and endemic.

Learning Fractions through the story telling

Many children find learning fractions tricky. In Room 3 we learned them through telling a story of an old man and an old woman. All children helped to make a pretend made a pizza and the pair cut it in a half to be fair. The pair chose two children and now there were four of them to share pizza. Each had a quarter and the whole class laughed about Room 3 family. It was pleasing to see that a few days later when we were learning the letter "q," Justin remembered the quarter.
